We work with tenants in Ohio who need a limited co-signer for their apartment. This includes young professionals, new residents, people rebuilding credit, and anyone who lacks a traditional limited co-signer. You'll need to complete our financial literacy course and demonstrate responsible budgeting.

The application is free to submit. If approved, the limited co-signer fee is up to one month's rent. Sapphire Guard sets your final fee after reviewing your application, and it may be lower. You pay it through our secure payment partner. There are no hidden fees.

Most applicants are approved within 7 days. The timeline depends on how quickly you complete the financial literacy course and submit your budget. The course takes approximately 45–60 minutes total.

Our 6 step course covers budgeting basics, overspending prevention, money management, wealth building, the 50/30/20 rule, and emergency funds. It's designed specifically for renters and includes quizzes to ensure comprehension. You must score 80% or higher on the final exam. The course takes approximately 45–60 minutes total.

Yes. Active tenants submit a monthly budget to maintain their limited co-signer status. This helps you stay accountable and supports your long-term housing stability goals. Your budget is ready on the 1st of each month and due on the 5th. We email you on the 1st to let you know it's ready, and again on the 5th if it hasn't come in yet.
